What is it like working with you?

I’ll be your advocate and the ideal financial steward of your budget. Working with me is like having an old friend who gets you and has your back.

How often will you communicate with me throughout the project?

Communication is key. I am adept at providing relevant updates on a consistent basis to make sure all parties (clients, contractors, vendors, etc) are always in lockstep. I also send weekly updates on the overall process—I want to make sure you can rest easy knowing you’re in good hands.

What is your design style?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And my clients’ eyes are everything. I will craft a style that reflects your busy, modern, high-functioning lifestyle. It’s essential that the entire look and feel of your home reflects you—and only you. I’ll take your vision and turn it into a cohesive, personalized design that reimagines what it feels like to be at home.

What if I want to incorporate furniture or rugs that I already own?

Fantastic! I love designing with existing pieces that are already a part of your personal landscape. Everything you find beauty and meaning in will be essential when informing our overall design vision.

Do you bring your own contractor/builder to your projects?

I love working with trusted partners whose professionalism, communication, and craft I can count on. But, I am also happy to work with your builder, architect, or contractor—and do very well being part of a team.

How do you charge for your services?

While good design is priceless, my business model is based upon a transparent, industry-standard design fee determined by the size and scope of your project. For full-service design, Studio Strongwater procures the materials and products included in your project with a promise that clients pay reasonable retail prices for all goods. That way, if there are any issues with any items (damage, incorrect item shipped, etc.) we will be able to take care of everything for you.

How long does it take?

It depends on the scope of the project. Some projects can take up to a year and a half, but we would budget in at least six months. Regardless, I’ll take the uncertainty out of the project as soon as I can. I’ll work with the contractors/build team to establish a timeline and communicate it to you in human terms—while also speaking to every other factor in (and out) of our control through the lifecycle of the project.

When can we start?

Soon. I am taking on new projects in measured quarterly increments. Contact us to see how your project syncs with our schedule.

Do you work outside of Boulder County?

Absolutely. I have out-of-state clients for both full-service and consulting design services. Any out-of-state travel/expenses will be transparently discussed during the first stages of engagement.
